Philip is a professional accountant (CPA) having qualified in 1973.
After, heading the committee for restructuring of DIA into a national single entity in 2010, he was appointed Financial Controller in 2012 to oversee the financial management of the Association.
Philip has a significant understanding of the Dry Cleaning Industry in Australia having run a successful dry cleaning business (Status Dry Cleaners) in Tasmania for 25 years. During this time he represented Tasmania on the DIA Board for a period of 17 years and served as National Treasurer for a period of 5 years.
A highlight of his involvement in the industry was being awarded Life Memberships of Texcare (Tasmania) in 2008, and for the DIA in 2012.
Before his involvement in the Dry Cleaning industry, Philip held senior Management Accounting roles with major companies in Western Australia, including The ReadyMix Group, The Bell Group and Allied Eneabba Ltd (subsidiary of Dupont). Philip moved back to Tasmania in 1984 to take on the family dry cleaning business.
