The Self Storage Association has commissioned a detailed study into the traffic patterns and parking requirements for self storage facilities in Australia. This comprehensive study was completed by Aurecon (formerly O’Connell Wagner) after studying traffic movement through self storage sites across Australia. Aurecon are experienced traffic management consultants, who provide advice to a range of State and local governments on the matter. The report suggests parking rates required for self storage sites based on their size, as well as providing commentary on general traffic flow patterns. It also deals with the accuracy of gate data to monitor traffic movements and the prevalence of tailgating and other means of entering the site without triggering a gate event.
