Ken, Executive Vice President of Sankosha, joined the company in 1997 at a time when it had no overseas operations. He played a key role in driving Sankosha’s global expansion, undertaking both sales and international development activities and visiting around 40 countries.
Since 2010, Ken has been dedicated to revitalising the global dry cleaning industry and contributed to the planning of IDC 2015. He is widely regarded as the leading Japanese expert on the international dry cleaning sector.
Sankosha itself was founded in 1977 by dry cleaner Mitsuyuki Uchikoshi with the vision of enabling small and medium‑sized dry cleaners to manage all finishing processes independently. After establishing its U.S. subsidiary in 1993, the company accelerated its overseas growth, with international markets now representing 80% of total sales. As industry needs shift from dry cleaning to laundry, Sankosha continues to innovate—from finishing technology to solutions in drying and folding—exemplified by its Press Free Finisher ST‑9000 series.
