New DIA Technical Officer Peter Pellieri

I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Pellieri as a Technical Officer with the DIA.

Peter began his career in the dry‑cleaning industry at the age of 18 and now brings over 40 years of hands‑on experience across all areas of the trade. His expertise includes plant operations, finishing, stain removal, leather and suede cleaning, bridal restoration, vintage and delicate garments, staff training and business development. He is widely trusted within the industry—particularly in Sydney—for the cleaning and restoration of wedding gowns, couture and high‑end garments, including heavily soiled and vintage pieces.

Peter previously held senior management and development roles with the Lindus Group of Drycleaners, where he played a key role in expanding the business to as many as 22 stores, training and mentoring staff, setting up new plants, improving workflow and layout, and helping resolve operational challenges across multiple sites.

After taking a well‑earned break travelling around Australia, Peter has returned to the industry and continues to support cleaners with garment problem solving, stain diagnostics, finishing standards, plant workflow and layout efficiency, as well as broader technical advice. He is available to the industry for consulting, relief management and specialist assistance when required.

The decision to invest in an additional Technical Officer is a deliberate part of the DIA’s broader strategy to strengthen our technical capability and ensure members have better access to practical, reliable technical advice when they need it. As the industry continues to face more complex garments, processes and operational challenges, expanding the Technical Officer function allows us to provide more timely, hands‑on support and lift technical standards across the membership.Peter’s appointment is an important step in this approach, adding depth, experience and availability to the technical support the DIA provides to members.

Please join us in welcoming Peter to the DIA.
