Q1 What The Dia Achieved For Members This Quarter
As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting Australia’s drycleaning industry, the DIA is proud to share what we’ve achieved for our members this quarter – from advocacy and visibility to technical support and community growth.
Let’s take a deep dive into everything members have benefitted from this quarter:
Industry Insights: Benchmarking the Sector
We kicked off this quarter with the release of our annual Benchmarking Survey, now available on our website. The results offer valuable insight into:
- Revenue and staffing trends
- Changes in service offerings
- Business confidence levels
- Industry pain points and opportunities
These findings not only give you a clear picture of how your business compares to others in the industry but also guide our ongoing advocacy
work on behalf of our members.
And a big congratulations to Ian Gilmour from New York Dry Cleaners in WA, who won the $200 voucher for completing the
survey!
Increased Visibility Through National Meta Campaign
Our National Facebook (Meta) advertising campaign continues to promote the value of drycleaners across Australia: driving awareness, boosting public understanding, and connecting customers directly with DIA members.
In the last quarter alone, our ads reached over 171,000 Australians, helping more people find their nearest drycleaner through our online directory.
If your business is a member of the DIA, you’re automatically included in this directory, giving you more visibility and more potential
customers. And with such a strong reach online, there's every chance a few new customers have already found our members through this
campaign.
Supporting Members When It Matters Most
Member support remains at the heart of everything we do. Over the last quarter, our team has assisted with 33 member requests, including customer complaints and technical issues.
By helping interpret the Fair Claims Guide correctly, we saved members from unnecessary compensation costs – including one standout case where a member saved $400 through our intervention.
We also released new technical advice on:
- Rachel Gilbert dresses, and
- Incorrect care labels on Scanlon Theodore garments
These resources are always available for members under Resources > Technical Information on our website, or you can click here to access these resources now. They’re free for all DIA Members and available for purchase for non-members – a great way to spot and solve common issues early, long before they become costly headaches.
And if you ever have an issue you’ve noticed with a garment? Don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know.
Welcoming New Members
We’re excited to welcome seven new businesses to the DIA community this quarter:
- The Clean Closet (Canberra)
- LINK Business Brokers
- Thurlby Botanicals
- Executive Dry Cleaners (Melbourne)
- Penguin Dry Cleaners (Melbourne)
- Castle Cove Drycleaning and Laundry (Sydney)
- Smiley’s Dry Cleaners (Newcastle)
It’s fantastic to see our network growing with such diverse and passionate professionals.
