Before you join, here's what to expect

Joining the DIA means having the full support of Australia's drycleaning and laundry industry behind you — for just $2.80 a day. Here's a quick overview of how membership works.

Payment Membership fees are charged monthly by credit or debit card.

Minimum commitment Membership has a 12-month minimum term. After that, it rolls over month-to-month and you can cancel anytime with effect from the next billing cycle.

Cancelling early If you cancel before the 12 months is up, the remaining fees for the full term are still payable.

Your card You'll need to provide a valid credit or debit card, which will be stored securely and used for all ongoing charges.

Using the DIA name As a member you're welcome to display DIA logos and membership references. If your membership ends for any reason, these must be removed straight away.

Resources Member resources are for use within your business only and cannot be shared externally.

DIA Code of Ethics and Conduct

As a member of the DIA, we undertake to comply as far as is reasonably practicable to the following:

  1. Maintain a high level of quality and service.
  2. Treat the customer and the customer's good with due care and respect.
  3. Encourage formal training of staff and management
  4. Treat employees and contractors with compassion and due diligence and meet all relevant legislative requirements.
  5. Investigate complains promptly.  If unable to resolve then contact the DIA Office for assistance.
  6. Pay compensation for lost or damaged goods attributed to drycleaner negligence, in accordance with the DIA's Fair Claims Guide.
  7. Operate and maintain a safe workplace which complies with legislative and regulatory requirements and which is environmentally responsible.
  8. Ensure our plant and equipment meets legislative and regulation requirements.
  9. Ensure that compliance with, and the effectiveness and efficiency of this code, is reviewed annually.

The code does not alleviate the business submitting this membership application from complying with existing and future statutory legislation and regulations or restricting their liability under general law.

The Drycleaning Institute of Australia provides an advisory service to assist consumers with issues arising from services provided by a DIA member.
