There are many reasons why drycleaning and laundry plants experience a catastrophic fire event but one reason in particular is spontaneous combustion.

It is essential that all drycleaners are managing the safety and risks associated with the use of drycleaning solvents and other chemicals in a drycleaning business, as well as disposing of the waste correctly.

A full and comprehensive induction program for new employees is the vital first step to make sure you run your business as risk free as possible.

Too often an employee starts and they are given the bare bones of an induction, for example, they know where the toilet and break rooms are and that is about it. While this is important, does your new staff member know where the spill kits are? Material Data Safety Sheets? First Aid Kit? Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)?
